My Minnie Introduction

Hi, Nurses and Soon To Be Nurses

This is my 1st post, and I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Minnie, and I have been a member since last year! Since then, I have been reading and gaining so much knowledge about the Nursing industry while at the same time working on my Nursing education. I come from a family of several nurses and 3 doctors (one being an international). My ultimate goal (God willing) is to become a Nurse Anesthetist, giving back to my community, and maybe even teach. I graduated with an AA degree and was accepted into FAU to study Pre Med / Biology, at the time I wanted to become an Anesthesiologist. I took several years off from school to... lets say... to enjoy my youth (LOL). Anyway, I am here, now and I am glad to be a part of a forum of like-minded individuals.

One last thing...

What made you want to become a Nurse, and if you had to do it ALL over, again, would you?!

Specializes in Med/Surg, LTACH, LTC, Home Health.

Hi there! You'll find very few original questions here.:D My dad made me go way back when..

Welcome. :)

What made you want to become a Nurse
I entered nursing for the stability that having a middle income job provides. My perspective is shaped by spending my childhood years in a financially insecure household where my parents did not always have the money for basic needs.

I have no romantic or inspiring story to share. Nursing was never a passion, childhood dream, or higher calling for me. Rather, it was a practical occupational pathway that offered the chance of steady income, career mobility, flexible scheduling, and educational advancement.

LOL. Thank you. I thought of it all by myself, LOL.

This is true for many, myself included.

But if you find satisfaction along the way as you do what you do very well and you feel you make a positive impact on others,, then you've come out AHEAD.
