Hi! My all-girl, ACA-accredited camp is in need of a nurse, it's 7 weeks in Milford County, PA. This will be my 4th year there, small camp, great people. Free tuition for your children, boys can go to a brother camp nearby. Anybody interested?

I have a co-Ed camp in Honesdale pa who is also seeking nurses. 7 week program 10 week contracts. I have been there 5 years, love it.
seriously we are having a really rough time finding nurses. This seems to be a system wide issue. At the ACN conference every camp director was looking HARD for nurses.

Seriously and no camps near me. Not sure if I want to endorse to PA...
But it explains why the scout camp hired a crazy anti vaccine EMT. Who didn't know pepto bismol has salicylates and isn't recommended for those allergic to or who can't take aspirin.

Serious shortage of nurses this summer. A few years ago hospitals had a hiring freeze in many areas, so nurses were looking for work anywhere. Not so this year, they are hiring again and we are feeling it!
If you need endorsement/reciprocal license in another state most camps will reimburse any fees associated with it.
I recommend recruiting nurse friends, school nurses, nurse practioners students (who may have Summer's free and are already RN's) or nursing faculty who also have Summer's free. Not only is it hard to find nurses, but for 7 or 8 weeks it is even harder. For the past 5 years I have worked at my camp for 10 weeks (it's 12 hours from home) and my husband is tired of me being gone so long. I'm only doing 6 weeks this summer and it's killing me to not stay the last 4 weeks, and they don't have anyone to replace me yet. I should just kick my husband to the curb, huh? Hah!
Good luck!
I will call the camp my son's scout troop is going to. It's only an hour away and perhaps I can negotiate a barter....

Last summer my 8th year, just can't this year. Just can't. I am seriously going to miss my camp and kids. Don't mind helping out on the camp nurse forum though. Contact school districts!!!!!

I loved Camp Nursing , worked as a camp RN 2009 , 2010,2011 my kids were campers and the job was interesting.
Sorry, can not work 7 weeks . I will definitely consider to help in NY area.
My camp has various sessions, from 2 to 7 weeks. Short jobs available! ;D

I would possibly be interested in a short term assignment. How can I find out more info?
I PM'ed you. BTW I made a mistake in the location, it's the town of Milford in Pike County, PA.

I would LOVE info on this. The camp (special needs) that I have worked at since 2010, just recently closed because of a death of the original owner and the need to settle the estate (and sell the camp). I love working at camp, love the challenge of each day. Faye
