My A&P and The Anatomy and Physiology Place

Published

I'm just wondering how many past A&P students have used these websites. Was it required for your class or did you pay for the subscription yourself? What was your opinion of it?

It came with my textbook, but I just signed up for it this evening. I like it so far. There is a Get Ready for A&P ebook that I'm reading right now.

There is a CD that comes with my book as well, I think it's the same one you mention, and also a body atlas. My instructor told me she didn't require it for the class but she felt it may help me better understand AP. I don't have my books yet, (they should be here any day) but I'm anxious to have a look at the CD and stuff!

I used both of these websites; they are a BIG HELP in studying for the tests, especially if you are using one of the textbooks such as Marieb or Martini. (I love the art labelling, the flashcards and the multiple choice quizzes). I also liked the Get Ready for A&P as a review.

I also found Tortora's website a great big help, and that site has open access, even if you're not using the text:

Good luck in A&P!

I am using the Marieb text. Which of the 2 do you feel helped you the most? My code allows me access to either My A&P or The Anatomy and Physiology Place. I want to choose the one that will give me the most help.

I found My A&P very helpful, and if you're using Marieb's text, I think I would go with that site.

Have you checked out The Biology Place? It's open access and some of the stuff on cell structure and function was very helpful to me at the beginning of A&P:

Also, when you log in to My A&P, check out the resources on the left-hand side. Get Ready for A&P is a good review of the basic science and math you might need before you take A&P. Also, the Interactive Physiology is fabulous, and I love the online flashcards!

There are lots of tools available, and my suggestion would be to take advantage of as many as possible. And check out Tortora's site, too. I took quizzes there, too!

I just finished A&P I and we used the Marieb text as well (the green one...7th ed. I think?) Anyways, use MyA&P, it helped me SO SO SO much. The diagrams are awesome, the notes are broken down into outlines, and there's memory & labeling activities and quizzes that are fantastic at helping you understand the mechanics of everything. I got an A in the class and I used MyA&P to study almost every day. Good luck!:D
