MT SAC FALL 2018

U.S.A. California

Published

Good evening everyone,

I didn't see a thread for potential Mt sac nursing students applying for Fall 2018. Since, I am from Northern California I think this is the best way for me to connect with the others who are applying.

How many points are you applying with ?

It got awfully quiet! Lol I've been checking back daily as well.

I just got back from my appt verification and found out im within the top alternates on the list. I applied with 77 points btw.

Thankful for these nursing students who float by haha. How do you like your first semester of mt sac nursing? The curriculum? Professors?

honestly for me, it isnt as stressful as everyone makes it out to be, but then again im one of the youngest with no other responsibilities like kids or jobs, so that might be a factor. im still in my first semester lol! its going good for me, as long as you listen to the teacher and do the study guides it should be good.

How should I prepare for my first semester? Should do an in-depth and extensive review of anatomy and physio? Should I ask for the books ahead of time, so that I can get a head start? What is the first class meeting like? Thank you :)

do the pharm hw ahead of time, dont study anatomy or physio at all, they dont really go over it; its a good idea to read ahead of the semester because it will get intense soon

How long is the actual appointment ? Asking cause i have a flight tocatch back.

My appointment was only 10-15 minutes. The counselor just seemed to check that the info I put on my application (GPA, units earned, etc.) matched what my official transcripts said.

Thank you so much!!

The counselor I met with also said during the first or second week of April, Mt. SAC should contact us again and tell us our status in the program (accepted, alternate, etc.) He also said orientation should be in June or July. I think he said orientation is one week long, full-time days.

Specializes in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Ahhh, my alma mater! Good luck to you all getting in and those that are already in it. Program was awesome, teachers were great, and the fellow classmates were like family. If any of you need any advice/tips ask away or message me :)

I have my counseling appointment tomorrow so I'll post how that goes then.

I had my verification appointment two weeks ago. The counselor was really nice and the meeting was pretty quick and laid back. I applied with 87 points and earned all 87. He said I was somewhere in the top 20 students. He said this year the cut off was more competitive than last year. I asked him whether we would hear back in April or May since the email said one thing but online it says another but he said he's not sure.

How's everyone? Any updates? :)
