DNP in both CRNA & Family Med.

I am divided between getting a...

[Option 1] MS in nurse anesthesia & DNP in family medicine OR

[Option 2] DNP in nurse anesthesia & DNP in family medicine.

The reason I want to get a DNP in Family Medicine is because I want to (after 10-15 yrs of working as a CRNA) start my own healthcare related business.

I don't know whether it is worth getting a DNP in nurse anesthesia if in 10-15 yrs I want to transition into a healthcare business. I know by 2025 you will HAVE to have a DNP in nurse anesthesia to practice as a CRNA.

Will I be granfathered in as a CRNA if I graduate CRNA school by 2020?

Yes. Some people have obtained both, by the way.

You may be better off with a DNP in Nurse Anesthesia and an MBA, unless you plan on working as an NP.

There really isn't any advantage to obtaining two separate DNP degrees.

Another thought. Once you have a DNP (either CRNP or FNP) and return to school, it is possible that you will receive a post master's/DNP certificate when you complete the second program.
