Hi everyone-
I am going to be moving to the Wickenburg area soon. I am currently working on pre-reqs for Nursing school in Washington. I want to get my RN degree/license down in AZ and then I hope to transfer to a university and do some sort of RN-BSN program if they offer those.
I guess I'm just looking for any tips or advice? I have never moved out of state (I'm 21) so I just want to make the schooling portion of my move as smooth as possible!
Thank you in advance for ANY input :)

i lived in Wickenb for 3yrs it is a VERY Rural area 45min from any real stores or entertainment. I did like it there its just a small town.
I moved to Surprise its 35 min from Wickenburg I also recommend the LPN-BSN program at U of Phx its awesome!!! You can PM me and we can talk more about everything.

Get some cowboy boots and a hat and you will fit right in!! I live between Surprise and Wickenburg. If you love rural areas and small towns, you will like it. If your a city person, sorry about your luck.
LOL - thanks for the info everyone :) My boyfriend is a bullrider so I'm very much used to cowboy boots, lol.
Another question -
How far is Phoenix from Wickenburg? I'm not a HUUUGE city person but I do like to go into Seattle sometimes here in WA, which is about an hour and 15 minutes from my house, so I'm sure I'd want to venture into Phoenix at some point, lol.
Again thanks for the replies everyone :)
To get to the center of town about an hour and 15, perhaps longer if traffic is sticky. NW Phoenix (Surprise, Peoria, Glendale) has alot of all the stuff you might want to shop, etc. Go to Phoenix a few times and you will stay in Wickenburg a whole lot more. Personally, I think Wickenburg has much better resturants than any of the brand names............
I grew up on a dairy farm in NY so I have NEVER been a city person but after living in Wickenburg for 3yrs I started LPN-BSN program at Uof Phx and needed to move to Surprise because my campus is near the PHX airport and it was 1h 30 min one way and it got very expensive esp when gas prices were up I only had to go 1x wk because I worked in Wickenburg at Remuda Ranch as an LPN but then I changed jobs too so I had daily travel and decided last Dec to move to Surprise. We still go to Wickenburg to visit our fav spots in the desert its a pretty drive when you are not in a hurry to get to work/school like I was. Gas and groceries are cheaper in Surprise 4sure!!

Wickenburg is pretty. But, there is NOTHING to do for a young person. Surprise would be a better choice.
