Moving to the Wichita Falls area

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you could give me some search tips or some websites of some available newspapers and/or job sites in the Wichita, Baylor county area in North Texas. I am transferring my LVN license in to the state of Texas and I will be actively searching for a job very soon.

Hi there!

The newspaper is called Times Record News. There are not many nursing jobs listed in the paper. There are 3 acute care facilities. The main one is United Regional (urhcs.org), there is also Kell West Hospital (kellwest.com), and Clinics of North Texas (clinicsofnorthtexas.com).

I hope this helps. I lived there all my life and worked at United Regional. I moved to the Dallas area and have been here 6 years. I have just decided to move back and after putting in my application they won't even call me back. I worked there for 6 years and never had any problems so I am really surprised and a little worried.

Thanks for the response. I hope those sites will be helpful. I will actually be living about 50 miles SW of Wichita Falls. I am not finding any nursing homes that have websites in that area though. They must be behind in the times. LOL!

if you don't mind me asking, where will you be living? i grew up in grahm which is south of wichita falls, i might be able to give you some information about the area to work other than wichita falls! if you want to pm me feel free to! good luck on your search!

i used to travel that area and do medicare chart auditing for nursing homes... which city exactly are you going to be living cause if i remember right there ain't much out there .. i have been to most of the nursing homes in that area .let me know and ill see if i can fill you in.

Welcome to Texas! Try Craigslist. Since it's free to post, more smaller facilities may use it. I know there are nursing homes in Meridian and Clifton, which are just outside of Waco. Killeen and Temple also have several facilities.

Hi Robert, and welcome to Texas!

There's a website I absolutely love - Hospitalsoup.com. If you search my state, and then type in Wichita Falls - you'll come up with two pages of sites - some hospital, some other -

Also - a really fantastic site - is citydata.com. You go to the state, search for Wichita Falls - then on that page - it will link to other small towns in the area. You

can also post a note on the forum there - it's much like the layout here at allnurses, and I bet you get a lot of responses.
