Moving on...

hello and i hope everyone has had a good day and evening. well, yesterday i found out something at work that i really do not think is fair. i am presently a clinic nurse in pediatrics. our clinic is moving to a brand new building where everything will be top of the line. here is the problem. we are going to change our nursing to having 3 different areas. each area will have 3 desks for each nurse. (pods they are called.) each working for one of 3 docs. here is the problem. my supervisor told me that one person is to be without a desk because the clinic will not pay for just one more desk! she told me because i worked the least amount of hours, that i will be the one without a desk! but, one of the doctors requested a shower to be put into our department so that he could shower before work because he bikes to work in the summertime. now tell me how fair that is??? i simply cannot believe it. i have known this was coming for a long time, but i am fumed. i have been looking for a travel nurse job as a result. i have worked in this department for 7 years!!!!! now i am a christian mind you and i do not get upset easily. but this is off the record! does anyone have any suggestions what i should do? i have thought of mentioning something to one of the doctors who really respects and likes me. just casually joke about job searching. am i being petty and ungrateful? i don't think this will be the best working environment for me or for anyone for that matter.

Do you have a desk now? Will there be more nurses than desks every day, or will it only occasionally be like that? Could you share a desk?

If you really like where you work, it would be a shame to leave over this. However, if you feel that God is clearly leading you down a different path, follow Him. Pray about it.

Maybe you could bring a tv tray table from home and set it up in your office. Put a picture of your family on it, a clock, etc. Then a little sign that says __________ (your name) Staff Nurse:nurse: . That might get the message across. :roll Of course, that might also infuriate some---- so my best advice is to just pray.

LOL! I love the TV tray idea. I may just do that...Seriously! haha Yes we have a desk area now. But we move around, it isn't our own desk station. But there is plenty of room for everyone. When we move to the new building, every one of the nurses will have their own desk except for me. But the doc gets his shower! lol We all know how important it is to have a shower in a pediatric clinic now don't we? I vote...Just give the nurse a desk! lol Sorry if I sound a bit bitter. It would just be nice knowing I am appreciated enough at work to have my own desk like everyone else!
