I am moving to CO early next year and need all the info I can get. I have been doing home health but would really like to work in the ED. I was in the ED right out of nursing school with not such great precepting. What would anyone recommend I do to prepare? I have ACLS, BLS and an ASN. I also took an emergency pediatric course around 3 to 4 years ago. Would it it be easier to get PALS now to facilitate a decision for a hospital? Would they be willing to train or is that just for new grads? Any help is appreciated... ALSO, what areas is everyone in? We are looking at Castle Rock, Parker, Littleton, Centennial areas. Any info would be appreciated as this is a huge move for us! One Middle school and two high school kids that play lacrosse.

I would recommend making sure you have a job secured before you make the move, particularly if you're hoping to get into a hospital setting.
