Moving and positioning Patients

Published

I have a nursing test coming up on moving and positioning patient's I've read the chapter and power points over 3 times now and believe that I have everything down pack. However I think that there's never enough I can know or make sure I know, so I was wondering if anyone has anything to throw in that most likely be on the test that can be easily forgotten, however it's very important. Anything?

My school had the students practice moving, turning and positioning each other in a lab setting. If you don't have that opportunity, could you and fellow students kind of 'study' together and do the same thing? It seemed to make a world of difference to know how it actually felt to be moved, turned and positioned, and reinforced in the brain the particulars and requirements for each situation/disease process/injury. Repetition of actually doing it and having it done to you, and reiterating the theory and sequences during the practice helped a lot!

Just a thought....
