I am a military wife and we are getting moved to fort campbell in april..Which state should I have my lpn license transfered to? Also, if you are an excelsior student where are you driving to take your exams? I really want to work in a skilled nursing home or psych ward. Are there a lot of those around? Thanks in advance

Howdy. I am a Paramedic Rn who graduated from excelsior less then a year ago. I would suggest you get your TN license. Gateway hospital is supposed to open a psych floor later in the year. I also still have all my study material manikins etc I can loan you. Look forward to hearing from you
Really? So you live in fort campbell? How are the apartment prices down there? I am originally from TN but Ive been living in Fort Lewis . So happy to be moving back to the south.

just wanted to say hello i'm at Ft. Knox...i'm not sure but i think too TN was working on a compact license...also you knwo you can work ON POST with ANY state license right?
Apartment prices are pretty reasonable. Let me know what you are looking for(just a bed or the deluxe indoor pools etc) and I can suggest places to avoid etc. I can provide you my IM/phone number. when is your approx move in date.
We will be moving in towards the middle of april. I want a nice apartment...a pool would be nice. Hopefully I can find a job on base ..that would be great!

I'm glad to have found people who are in a similar situation as I. My husband and I are relocating to ft Campbell in July and am in my first semester of the ADN program at a local community college in NY. Is the waiting list for Hopskinville community college very long? I am somewhat concerned about leaving nursing school here, only to sit on a waiting list for 2 more years. Are there any other nursing schools in the Ft. Campbell area BSN or ADN)? How is the job market?
not sure about the schools there just wanted to say welcome aboard...you may want to go to the KY or TN board to ask, as this is the Distance learning board...I'm an active army wife, and i decided to do Excelsior College distance LPN to RN degree due to hubby's constant moving, and i did not want to be in the same situation you are in now with transfering to another school and risking not being able to get in/not getting all my credits transfered etc. Wish you the BEST of luck, Ft. Campbell is very pretty in the spring/.summer we have friends there and visit often!
