I'm a recovering alcoholic with over 1 year of sobriety and into my 5 year consent. I chose to report myself to the BON for accountability and aftercare. However, in my search to possibly move one day out of state I notice that the new states ask if my license has ever been restricted. Does this mean I might get turned down for an out of state license? I know I have 4 more years to go but I'm panicking that I'll be stuck in GA for the rest of my life when I want to move back north.
Now that I see the consequences I regret reporting myself. No employer reported me. I went to rehab on my own.
Thanks!

You might or might not get turned down. Just because you had a contract in one state doesn't mean you'll be denied in another. Some states are more lenient than others. I think, however, you might have to start the contract over whenever you move states. It's not like a rollover or giving someone credit for time in already. You start over from what I understand. The best way to find out is just to call them anonymously. Just spell out the situation without giving your name.
