This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )
I turned in all my paperwork on Friday after I saw it was first come -first serve and filed my FAFSA I think in March. Be sure to have your Federal tax documents, copy of your 2009 W-2 and go to MSMC's website, under Quick Links drop down go to Student Financing. The forms are in there. I had to fill out the Independent Worksheet.
Does anyone know when we are supposed to receive more information from admissions? Like the study packet, etc.? I wrote admissions regarding the July 17 weekend of events, and will pass on that information once I receive an answer.
Have you already filled out the FAFSA? Gonna get mine done on Friday (I have finals this week!) When is your meeting? Let us know what they tell you because I'm curious about what financial aid tips they have for us. I think that you can get up to about 20K in Stafford loans (subs and unsubsidized) if you qualify and then have to go through private loans for the rest. We used to be worried about getting into school, now we have to worry about we pay for it. :)

hiho everyone. ok, i heard back from msmc regarding when we get more information and the packet of study material:
after you make the tuition deposit you will get a large information packet in the mail from the nursing department. this packet will contain information about the orientation specific to the absn program. you will not have to attend the july 17th event.
so i guess i'll be getting my deposit in sooner than later.

i have already been working with the financial aid dept and they are wonderful. i was working with sdsu and never got anywhere. i am sure it will all work out in the end. plus sdsu wanted $4700 to hold your spot, $400 for msmc is nothing!
I totally remember you! I went in for my interview right after you came out. I was waiting with 3 other girls, but I went in first and had the same interviewer you had.
