Nope, you are not alone Luckykim. I've been waiting patiently but have heard nothing in response from MSMC. I even sent Joelle an updated transcript last week, of all the prerequisites I took this semester (straight "A"s in Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Chem, Nutrition for a total of 19 units) but haven't heard back. :smackingf

Who knows, we might still be on some alternate list and they just haven't gotten to us. I'm hoping for the best and believe that no matter what happens its ultimately for the best.

Is anyone taking Medical Ethics at UCLA this summer, to satisfy the Upper Division Philosophy requirement? I've enrolled in both that class and the Intro to Psych class at UCLA, as well as the ITV Lifespan Psychology class at Mission College. That completes all my prerequisites for most every program out there.

Hey, Jaxfar!

I think you will hear good news from every schools( if you re-apply for spring 2010 term). Because you got straight As. Most of schools look at the science GPA. I will pray for you jaxfar! Probably, MSMC will contact you. Just wait more.

I'm in the same boat... still waiting to hear something from MSMC. :anbd:

I would just like to know why I didn't get an interview, so I can improve my application for the next term... or next school. I'm thinking it may be because I had several prerequisites in progress (Jaxfar, I see you were in a similar situation with the prereqs - good work on all those A's!). Who knows..... Let's cross our fingers for more interview emails...

Hi all,

i just spoke with someone in Nursing Admissions and was told that all interviews had now been completed. I was also told that it would be unlikely that they would offer admission to anyone that had not been interviewed. :sniff:

From what the woman said, I gathered that a decision letter should be expected in the third week of June and that it would include reasons for their determination.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for those of us still waiting. Who knows, maybe she was mistaken and they will still send out a few more invitations or perhaps they will have a waiting list.

I am seriously confused. I called Nursing Admissions just a few minutes ago b/c I wanted to know if I should scramble and take my last 2 classes. If I didn't get in, I may as well take my time with it, right? Anyways, I asked if I did not get an interview, does that mean I did not get in? The girl said, "Not necessarily. Sometimes we just do the interviews if the applicant wasn't clear in their statement." She said letters should be mailed out this week or next. I emailed Joelle too so I'll keep you guys posted if I get a response!

Good luck with getting a response from Joelle. I sent her an email yesterday in the morning but from past experience I've found that she rarely responds to emails.

I don't know what's worst. The wait OR the back and forth on if we have a chance even if we're not interviewed. I don't know about you guys but I've been yo-yo-ing everywhere and it's driving me crazy. LoL. I sincerely hope we get a chance even if we're not interviewed. Esp since I was pretty direct in my personal statementi because if they interviewed me, I don't know if they could get any new info. Maybe just elaboration.

It's weird too. I wonder if we're all talking to the same person or if these people we've contacted actually talk to each other. It seems like some miscommunication is going on or some people trying to be nice and not bash our hopes?

Anyhoo, I'm trying not to check back on this thread too often and finish out my semester with some R&R. Thank god for summer!!!

Lovin NP: My thoughts exactly!

Last week I came to terms with my "rejection" because I didn't get an interview, and I was moving on to plan B. Now, I just don't know. It seems cruel for them to lead us on if there is just no hope. But then again, maybe MSMC doesn't want people telling us we were not accepted over the phone. I also feel like my personal statement was pretty self-explanatory ... wonder if that has anything to do with our lack of interview. Either way, this back-and-forth is driving me nutty. Like Empresz said, I don't want to cram 2 classes in this summer if I don't need to.

Anyway, good luck to everyone! We will all reach our goals one way or another. :nurse:

I wanted to double check with you as well regarding admission into the Accelerated BSN program. I have been hearing different information regarding interviews. Can you please clear it up for me? For those of us that did not receive interviews, does that mean we did not get accepted into the program? The reason I am asking is because I just found out today that LATTC has canceled their second session of summer school. I have two classes left to take and am now wondering if I should be scrambling to sign up elsewhere (if I have a chance still with MSMC), or just take it in the Fall. Can you please advise? Thank you so much for your time. I know how busy you are!

To answer your question, the nursing committee will invite all qualified candidates in for a interview. The nursing committee considers the total application including transcripts, essay, letters of reference to make a decision.

I'm wondering if she meant "The nursing committee THEN considers the total application..." I'm assuming I was not a qualified candidate then? Anyways, I hope to hear next week. A lot of Los Angeles Community Colleges either canceled summer session or 2nd summer session. I rather not scramble to sign up for another course and just reapply next year!

I'm predicting that acceptance letters were either mailed last friday, or they're going out next week...

I've decided that I can't afford this program, but the whole process is still driving my crazy!!! :bugeyes:
