Mount St. Mary's College LA - Accelerated BSN 2009

Published

This is a new thread for anyone applying to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles. Please feel free to share, and discuss your application process with us.

There is also lots of information available through previous MSMC threads!

Good luck to everyone!

:D

Thanks empresz. I really appreciate your input. I recalculated (forgot to calculate some summer course from years ago) my gpa and its actually 3.1. What i am worried about is the WU - unauthorized withdrawal grade. I've called the university where i took the class and it seems like i may not be able to retake or do anything about the WU grade since i took this undergraduate course AFTER i received my BS degree. This WU grade is counted as an F at the graduate level. Anyone know if MSMC will hold this against me? Without the WU grade i should have no problem fulfilling their requirements. Without the WU my gpa will be atleast 3.1 with the Wu my gpa will drop to like 1. Anyone have any experience with this? I can't get an answer from MSMC until june 16 when i go to their info session. I really hope MSMC will work with me on this.

Okay I think I see what you mean. I hear they calculate your GPA based on the last 60 units of your bachelors degree. Since you received that WU after you completed your degree, I THINK you're fine. I also have a few withdrawals on my transcript, but none that were the last 60 units taken. I hope it doesn't reflect negatively on me too.

I just got the email for the interview last friday! Can anyone tell me what to expect? I've been trying to go through the threads but there is too many to navigate through! What kinds of questions are they asking???

empresz, yeah wish us both luck. I really hope i can get away with the WU grade. Do you or anybody know if it is easy or less competitive to get into the summer or fall program for AccBSN at MSMC?

I received an email on Friday, May 22 at around 3:30 p.m., and I set up an interview for tomorrow morning. Just wanted to let everyone know they were still sending out invitations as of Friday!

Good luck!

^^^ I hope your interview went well this morning! :yeah:

I scheduled my interview for tomorrow. When you can, could you please come back to this thread and let us know what kind of questions are asked? That would be much appreciated. :D

Hey GettingreadySFV...how did your interview go? What kinds of questions did they ask you? How about anyone else who has gotten an interview??? I'm doing a phone interview and I'm not that great over the phone, so any helpful tips and questions to be ready for, would be greatly appreciated!!!

Good luck to everyone who has received interviews!

:D

It seems like Fridays are the trend for interview emails, eh?? I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow... Good luck everyone!

Also, I'm just getting grades in for 4 more of my prerequisites. Do you think it would be beneficial for me to send them in? (all A's, woohoo!)

Hey LoveSophie,

How was your interview today? What kinds of questions did they ask you???

Hello All, I am new to this forum but would just like to share my experience with you guys, since these threads have helped me prepare for the interview. I received an interview invite via email this past Tuesday 5/26. My interview was this afternoon with Anne (the director of the A-BSN program). She was a very nice lady and she made me feel very comfortable during the interview. She basically asked me the same questions that we were asked on our personal statement, as well as "How do you handle stress?". The interview lasted about 35 minutes and she said that they will be interviewing all through next week as well. She said decisions will be made June 8th-9th and that we will be receiving letters through the mail regarding whether or not we are accepted into the program. Best of luck to everyone, I hope my post has helped someone.

Thanks so much for your post, I really appreciate it. I still have not received an email and since interviews are running until next week only, I assume I will not be getting an interview...

I wish you all the best of luck
