I am a new grad and have been applying for all I can at the hospitals in NYC. I recently got a call from HR to interview with a nurse manager at Mount Sinai in an ICU. I did not have a screening interview or anything else with HR. It is also for a part time position... has anyone else been offered a position like this as a new grad? I have no ICU experience also. I am very anxious to see how the interview goes, and obviously would love to negotiate to full time. Thanks!

I’m interviewing for full time in September, any progress?
Yep! I was offered the position and negotiated full time flex nights! The manager says she loves new grads :) so people wanting to work in NYC don’t give up hope as a new grad! It is possible!

My sister's situation is the same. She was offered a part-time position after passing the nclex-rn but she negotiated with the HR. Turns out this part time was some sort of probationary period and after 60 days they gave her permanent full time employment.

Hi,
How many positions did you apply for at Mount Sinai? I recently heard if you apply to more than 3, you get blacklisted so now I am concerned because I applied to 6!

Which campus did you get interviewed for? Amazing that a new grad got a position in the ICU. I’m sure you will learn a lot. Is there base pay still $49? Are you part of NYSNA? Do you have the schedule of differentials they provide to you? I’m curious to see if they’ve changed it since I interviewed years ago. Thanks!

Hey, as far as I know Mt Sinai doesn't offer residency programs like NYU or NYP. You just go through orientation
