mosby's cat test for nclex

Published

well, i paid the 40 bucks and took it. it was much harder than i thought. all sorts of stuff i never heard of, and i'm guessing like mad. then the test stops after 75 questions and says i've got a 99% chance of passing the nclex.

so i feel both humbled and relieved. i haven't opened a book in the last 4 1/2 months between my last excelsior exam and the cpne. i suppose the thing to do is start reviewing. i feel like i don't know anything. at least, it seemed like those questions were from angles i'd never considered.

the deal seems to be pretty good. you can take it as many times as you like over the next 30 days. mosby is a well respected player in health care publishing. i think it's great tool for nclex prep.

i'm also using the suanders disk.

do you have a link to the site?

be sure you first create an account before you order, else it will mess up. then you'll have to call mosby and they'll give you the test access code.

which one good online or boxed.both are same or not ,thanking u

i just did the online one. you get access for 30 days, which is good enough for my study plans. i'll be sitting the first possible instant i can sit. just waiting on my ATT.

you could call mosby and see what the difference is.

Traumahawk,

There's good news and bad news here.

The good: I got a similar prediction from the Mosby CAT and did indeed pass the NCLEX with no problem.

Now, the bad: A few weeks after the CPNE, Excelsior sent me a free Mosby CAT logon. Was good news for me, but probably not for you since Mosby already has your forty bucks.

Good luck on your upcoming NCLEX. I really found the NCLEX review book published by Saunders to be helpful. Keep in mind that both passing and failing candidates get about 50% of the questions right on the real thing, so expect to walk out a little frazzled.

Thanks for driving the 50% right point home :) It helps to be reminded of this.

i'm sitting for the nclex before excelsior sends me the coupon, or officially graduates me. with the coupon, you can only take the cat once, and i'm studying their database of questions. 40 bucks is a drop in the bucket.

not to mention that's i'm giving the college a larger gift than they ask for :).

what determines pass/fail is the difficulty level of the questions you can answer. i'm in the 6's according to mosby.

i know it's a big deal as far as licensing, but i think the nclex is one of the easiest licensing exams that exist.

Oops. I did register first and purchased online CAT -

however, the system does not allow me to log in. :o hope their online support works!

Cannot wait to try this one, thanks for the tip!

yeah, it's stupid, but you've got to call them and have them generate a test id # via phone. you'd think it would be automated.

Yep... I got through - at least this is a company you can get through to with minimum waiting and listening of elevator music. I am still in the foothills of the Himalayas and chewing my nails off - making phone calls can be an ordeal - but! Got my passwords now - 30 days until the big day!

I'm going to buy the Mosby CAT as well and see how I'll do. I graduated a month ago and I'm scared to death of the NCLEX. I'll be taking it as soon as i receive the ATT.
