Has anyone ever worked in moreno Valley at Riverside county. How is the town and the hospital?
My travel agency is offering a low pay rate 22.50 an hour, 4500 housing stipend and 48hr work week for 13 weeks. Does this sound OK for the area and hospital? My take home after taxes would be about 1900 weekly.

$22.50 sounds kinda low for an rn but the housing stipend makes up for it wow $4500 is that just a one time stipend or is that a month? here are some web sites that might be helpful http://www.moreno-valley.ca.us/ http://www.rcrmc.org/

I wouldn't be working for that OT rate. My last few contracts have paid my OT rate off of my blended rate (Taxed + non-taxed hourly) and not the hourly taxable rate.

I'm guessing that OT rate is just for the 48 hour contract to be legal. Time after that may be a higher rate as will time after 12 in a day.
The bigger question here is not the money, but whether you want to be working in Riverside at all. Hospitals there have a bad reputation.
When I clicked on "Hospital Profile" it looks like this is a contract from Access Nurses aka Aya Healthcare, OP...is that true? You can likely do better with other companies....Just saying.
I agree about Aya. Interesting how agencies with bad reps staff hospitals with bad reps. The two things are related but I'm not sure what exactly it says about the agencies. I suppose someone has to staff such, but good agencies look to retain travelers and avoid places that might cause them to lose valuable travelers for good.

New grad RNs in the Murrieta/Temecula area (about 30ish mi. southwest of Moreno Valley, also part of Riverside County) start at about $35/hr before differentials. I calculated a slightly higher tax on the hourly mentioned above (I'm single and I usually get taxed about 26% of my hourly here in CA) and got about a total of $31 and change, before any benefits. I didn't see any meals and incidentals included in the above, either. In the LA area RN's are making at least $1200 take home/week and that's with the lower paying offers. While Moreno Valley is a lower cost of living area it is also less desirable. Maybe use that as your jumping off point? I'm sure you can negotiate more.
Also, you can try a paycheck website to see exactly what you'll be making after taxes on your hourly, like paycheckcity. It was spot on for me.
