2 months unemployed by choice bad on application?

I've been off work for 1 month now recovering from back injury. I have decided to leave hospital bedside nursing to go into home health. How long is too long to be out of work for trying to find employment in new area? What is the period of time a lapse in employment looks bad on an application? Or, does employers even consider a lapse in employment of 1-2 months as a bad thing?

It won't matter because you have a good hospital experience background, but I would not let it go any longer. The longer you go without working, the worse it will look. You can say that you just took a much needed vacation for one or two months off. I certainly would not volunteer that you were recuperating from a back injury. That is the info that won't help you.
