I'm looking into Monroe college 1+1+1 program and I was wondering if anyone could give me their personal experiences? I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what exactly the hours for classes are? The advisor told me to be available 9-6 but I do work full time and want to know if that's flexible at all. I'm a CNA and can adjust my hours but the only shifts are 7-3, 3-11, 11-7. I also have a 7 year old daughter. Also, what is the job outlook like? Was it easy to get a job after completion? Did they help you? Thanks in advance

I am currently in my 3rd semester in Monroe progressive BSN program and I work 11-7am 5 days a week. Depending on the prerequisites you've taken your schedule will be different from others. They allow you to take these classes with your nursing classes if you haven't taken them all you can have long days. Each semester is different... I've taken all possible prerequisites so I'll give you a breakdown of what my schedule was like
1st semester
M/W
Fundamental 1-3
pharmacology 3:30-430
Tuesdays
I had exams as they do not give you exams on lecture days
Thursdays
Clinicals 8-3:30
2nd semester
Only class I had was maternity and pediatrics this class was on alternate mondays, meaning maternity 1 week pads the other.
Exams on Tuesdays as well
We did 4 clinical days total 2 for peds 2 for maternity cant remember the day think it was Thursday or Friday I cant remember
I'm in 3rd semester and this is by far the longest day ever I am in school 5 days a week until 5pm. Thank God I already took micro or school for me would start at 8am.
Mondays
Med surg 1-3
Mental health 3:30 to 5
Its suppose to be clinical days for mental health we only do 3 days 1 skills 2 at the actual facility . And exams are also on this day
Wednesday
Medsurg 1-3
Capstone 4-5 (this Is a preparation course on Ati for PN NCLEX)
Thursday and Friday
Med surg clinicals 8-3:30
Literally a full schedule with reading studying Ati clinicals working. Its hectic but I've managed so far. They literaly tell you it's an all day program because they find every means to keep your there.

Hi - I was looking forward to applying to Monroe this month for the Progressive Bachelors in Registered Nursing.I recently came across a message on here stating they are only state accredited and that will not allow me to get a job in a hospital because they require a school to be NLN or CCNE accredited. Is this correct? Has anyone heard or experienced this??
Very untrue. The way i think it works is a School can be accredited by one or more of these 'bodies'. They are ACNE accredited and I do know they just recently got CCNE accredation however before then I know plenty of people who have gone to monroe and have gotten jobs in hospitals. If you are your are considering applying go in for an info session and ask Dr.Lamar all the questions you have before making your decision.
FYI: They are currently doing interviews for January and I'm sure they will fill up fast. Good luck

Hi, do you know if Monroe College provide private student loan? I am doing seconder degree, I could not get enough cover for tuition. I would like to know if you heard from anyone who can get private student loan without Cosigner. I am alone in the U.S, I work 9-5 5days per week. I know you must be very busy, if you could make time reply me really appreciate, I am struggling with some financial issue, but really want to get this done. Good luck in school.
