Hi. I have a Palm Tungsten E and I've had it for over two years and still love it. I do have it in a hard case which I've dropped and it hasn't broken...yet! (lol).

i had my zire 71 for 2 years, and then moved on to a t-3 (still good after 2 years) while my husband is still using the zire without problems.

Gosh, I must be really stupid cause I don't know what a "Tungsten" Palm is- I do, however, have the Palm Treo 650 PDA and its also my cell phone. When it broke after almost a year, Cingular (my wirelss cellphone company) mailed me a new one right away- no questions asked! Since it 'syncs' with my home computer, not a spec of data lost and no reloading of ANYTHING. BTW: I drop and bang it ALL the time- so hard that memory card & battery come flying out...but still no problems with new one for over a year now.

People are not reading directions that is why they breaking alot. I have a Tungsten E2, no problem. I had to reset a few times because I overloaded the memory. It took me less than 5 minutes to put all the information back.

By breaking do you mean cracks, scratches or do you mean memory/data loss?

I keep my TX in a leather case, so even if it is dropped, it doesn't get damaged. If you have it with you all the time, this is what I recommend....

i had a tungsten e2 in a soft case, and the screen cracked... but now i have my T/X in a hard case and i love it.

granted the reason why it cracked was baecause i dropped it a lot - but i drop my t/x all the time too - and the hard case is miraculous.
