Long-term TX satisfaction?

  1. I have read many good things about the Palm TX, but recently I came across someone who was REALLY unhappy with the PDAs stability, as well as issues with speed. Has anyone had a TX for six months or more? Do you still love it?

I've had several PDA's(Zire 71, Tungsten E, Life Drive, and now the T/X) and the T/x was a great investment, IMHO. You get a lot of features for the money. I've not had any speed or stability problems. When I had a Life Drive, it continually froze up-the T/X has not. I've had the T/x for about 9 months.

I'm currently researching PDAs and the TX has better reviews than the LifeDrive, but I'm concerned about lack of memory. Does the TX have enough room for all of the programs you want on it? Do you use separate memory cards for your programs? I'm afraid I'd lose them.

I have had a few Palm-Powered devices (Zire and IIIxe), and the TX is great. Built in WI-FI allows Hot-Syncs to my wireless laptop, and I have a Kingston 1GB SD card that holds just about anything that I could put on it. Even with drug formularies and games, and all the other items, I still have about 76MB free on the main memory, leaving the SD card for music and such. I have had no problems with stability or speed as well. The only thing that might get annoying is the screen is a little small if you surf the web (mostly HTML intensive sites, but there are text based ones out there) with the built in browser, and Grafitti 2 takes some getting used to if you have used older Palm products.

Overall, I love mine and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (especially since the prices have dropped since I bought mine).

Thanks for everyone's input. I think I'll go ahead. My son offered to take it off my hands if I don't like it
There are some really great deals. I found an open-box one for $179 shipped. I don't think I'm allowed to say where (hint: they are a sponser of this forum).

i'd be nervous about the open box - i bought my TX new and love it. Plenty of memory, plus i have a memory card for any "Extras". It's become vital to my practice.

I'm not worried about open-box, this company is very reputable. I've bought remanufactored before, and they are great deals.
