MO license by endorsement?

I have been an LPN in Kansas for about 9 months and live in the Kansas city area. I was offered a job on the missouri side of the state line and am now needing to obtain my license there. I was told that I can drive directly to Jeff city and get it the same day, is that true? If so I would be able to do that tomorrow, but I don't want to waste my time if it isn't going to speed the process. I printed off an application from the Missouri State Board of Nursing, I really don't want to miss out on this job opportunity.
