Hi guys! I thought it would be a great idea to start a new thread for those of us who are planning on applying to Modesto Junior College RN program. It would be great if we would all share with how many points we are applying with, this would give us an idea to see what are our chances are on getting in the program. With all the new changes, it is hard to tell what the cutoff on the points will be. I will be retaking my TEAS and hoping to apply with maybe 80 points or so. Hopefully ?????

With clinical’s being postponed first through third semester students aren’t able to move forward which leaves no room for new students. Also new applicants are low priority since they are trying to figure out what to do with their current students.
Hi, who did you speak with?

Oh man, I have heard this has been happening with other schools (like Sac State) as well. Thank you for the update. It's understandable, but kind of sucks that we're all in limbo until then (especially the people who are supposed to be graduating this year).

This sucks real bad. Do you think maybe clinical will be pushed into Summer and then we still start on time or do you think we’d be pushed back to start later if we get accepted?

I'm
hoping they can move into Summer or even night shift clinicals I feel that would be helpful either way cuz some of us will be night shifters once we get licensed

That's true. It's so hard to say since things change so much every day and who knows if the hospitals will let them. I live in Sacramento and heard that one of the schools is supposed to start sending notifications this week but haven't heard about the other schools. I'm sure each school is handling it differently. So, we just wait ?♀️

That’s what I’m saying like they have everything set to work remotely and continue with the process so realistically there shouldn’t be that much of a delay? IDK I might be wrong but seems like they could at least continue processing the high points that were qualified and then lottery

Hopefully it all works out in the end. But this is exactly what my friend told me. I coped and pasted the message.... “With what is going on I'm not sure when or if you will hear back. We have been having conference calls and Someone in my class asked about people who just applied and thwy said they are not worried about you guys right now their priority right now is 1-4th semester students since we are already in the program. The issue is they stopped our clinicals as some hospitals didn't want students. We are still doing theory. 4th semester got priority and they are still doing clinicals but 1-3 arent so if we can’t finish clinicals we cant move forward and will have to continue in the fall meaning we all have to sat in our current semester which means no room for new students... so hope and pray we can finish and then there will be new room for new students.”

My friend said the problem right now is that they still have lecture online but no clinical’s. And if they don’t do clinical’s then they have to continue in the fall which will affect new students because then they’ll be no room for new students in hospitals as well /: let’s hope it all works out tho.

Same here, my friend goes to delta and also said their clinical’s are postponed. At least mjc has a few students still doing clinical’s. Sadly tho she did mention students who didn’t pass the class with at least a 75% got kicked out of the program and had to reapply to the program which I feel like takes away spots from new students /:!
