U.S.A. Missouri

Do any hospitals in the St. Louis area hire prior to graduation? Graduating June 2011. (St. Anthony's, St. Lukes, etc) Thanks for the help! HR depts seem to be "out of the office" a lot these days! :uhoh3:

I don't live in Missouri. I was surprised to see an ad from Barnes Jewish Hospital in Clayton, Missouri. It was a part time job for a nurse. It said that IV certification was required. It said they accept new grads or those who are anticipating graduation in 12 months or less. I am not sure why they had this job listed in the Florida area.

Specializes in MICU.

Everybody hires grads to be. If more than a month out or so, as a student nurse tech or PCA or whatever they call a nurses assistant at that institution. If less than a month, then as a GN but you'll just be doing paperwork etc.

Specializes in PACU, Surgery, Acute Medicine.

Yes, you can get a job prior to graduation, in fact you should be looking already. I had interviews lined up for spring break before I graduated and was surprised to discover that they had been hiring spring graduates since the previous December.

You can still get one in the state of missouri but illinois will not hire you with out graduating and already passing boards.
