Liberty Hospital RN New Grad Pay Rate?

I'm gonna bump this thread and also ask this question:

Liberty offers scholarships but require you sign a contract for 1 or 2 years does anyone have experience working at Liberty?

Grad Nurse pay - $20.76 Base. Add $0.25 when you pass boards. $3/hr night differential, $2/hr weekend differential.

Raises once a year (January I think), plus market adjustments once a year (May/June). Please feel free to contact me if you have more questions. I have worked here for over five years (first as a tech, then grad nurse, now RN) and really enjoy it. I will gladly answer any questions you have.

thanks for the info. I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind.

How did you get your tech position? I am just starting my pre-req's but I am interested in a tech position. What are the qualifications you need for that position? Does Liberty offer loan forgiveness?

Liberty does offer tuition reimbersement and student loans I believe, but you must be working as a part time tech while in school. (I worked full time, but my technical status was PRN, so I was not eligable). To be a tech you must have completed Fundamentals of Nursing (usually your very first semester of actual nursing classes). I think it was a great job and I learned a lot. Since you are just working on pre-reqs, my suggestion would be to apply for either a PRN or weekend secretary position (I was amazed at how much this helped on boards) or get your CNA. I have known a lot of people who have transferred to the higher paying tech position once they were eligible.

Liberty also pays for Kaplan for new grads. :)

Ok, I hate to even ask that because lots of people have mentioned it but what exactly is Kaplan. Is it to get you BSN if you already have your associates?

Kaplan has nothing to do with ASN vs BSN. It is a week long course offered as a prep for NCLEX (suppose to help you pass boards). It is around $400 I believe. I've heard about a 50/50 on people who thought it was helpful. Most people take it a couple of weeks out of nursing school but before they take their boards.
