Good evening,

I just got the word that my husband is accepting a position in the Minneapolis area (Eagan). I have a little over a years experience in labor/delivery/post partum and have been working PRN as a sub-school nurse. Does anyone have any ideas about jobs in this area?

Specializes in Med-surg, CC Float pool, LTC.

Saalbunch,

There are lots of good hospitals in the Minneapolis and St. Paul Minosata:trout: area! The pay is good and with a year in L/D lots of choices. All the big systems are non-profit and many are contract. I have many years up here and like it. The weather is colder but you really can't beat the summers.

If you are going to live South of the metro, Fairview is the first choice. They are on-line. Allina may also be a choice but I am not sure of hospital to the south. PM me if you need more info.

Best of luck to you. I'm moving this to the Minn. Nurses forum where you can hopefully hone in on some locals who live there and can help you. :)

Specializes in orthopedics, ED observation.

Welcome to the Minnesota area of the board. As a previous poster mentioned there are several hospitals thoughout the metro area. Allina, HealthEast, Fairview and HealthPartners are some of the bigger systems. Hennepin County and North Memorial Medical Center are couple of the independants, which are also Trauma Level One hospitals. These should get you started on an internet search of some of the opportunities in the area. Good-luck w/ your job search.
