Hey everyone! I decided to do summer semester part-time and my schedule consists of Composition II (all online) and Microbiology twice a week (T/Th 5:30-8:30 PM for lecture and lab). Am I crazy for taking this class over the summer? I know it is a lot of information! The only reason I signed up for it is because I am taking Anatomy & Physiology II this fall and I think that and Microbiology would just be too much (science overload!). Is this a bad idea? Would I be better off taking A&P 2 over the summer since I just finished A&P 1 with an A- and then take Microbiology in the fall? Semester starts next week and this has been driving me crazy! Thanks in advance! ?

I don't think advanced A&P is any easier than microbiology, they're pretty similar in terms of time requirements for studying. That being said, one or the other during summer isn't that bad, people have even done both over the summer.

I personally found Microbiology to be way harder than AP2. I got A’s in both but I think I would have got B’s if I would have done the summer. I personally wouldn’t do it if your in a very competitive area and a B will hurt you.

Did you take advanced a&p??? I made a post trying to get some idea about what its like-taking it next fall- and save been wondering how hard it might be? Is it similar to a&p II??

I found microbiology to be a lot of memorization while A&P2 was more big concepts.
LOTS of flashcards for micro, and flow charts for A&P2.
I would take them together in the fall and nothing else. At least that way you'll have the extra time to let the ideas soak in, especially for A&P2. It's totally do-able. I'd get your easy classes out of the way over the summer so that you can focus on your hard sciences.

I did Microbiology as a 5-week accelerated course. It was intense, but I passed with a B, and it was actually my favorite course! I think you’ll be fine with doing it during the summer. Good luck! ?

Microbiology is intense. I myself took it back in Summer 2016 as a hybrid course. 5 weeks. We started with like 25 students I think by the end there were less than half of us left. Our professor in particular was a tough cookie too though. Many people in my program took it elsewhere.

i'm taking A&P 2 this summer. 4 days a week 6pm-10pm, I know it'll be a lot on top or a full time job but it'll be worth it! So will your class. It'll be done and out of the way and you'll be able to focus on other classes since they won't all be piled on top of each other. My advice is as long as you're confident that you will be able to do it, have the motivation to do it and hopefully have a good teacher you'll be just fine ?

Personally I think it’s doable!
I took micro as well as the last AP accelerated and I got A’s. As long as you work hard and study you’ll be fine

I took micro, speech, and sociology online during a summer. It was a lot of info but it can be done!
