SE MI employment for exp. ED RN

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hi there,

I am a single mom of a wonderful little, 8 month old girl. My parents live in SE MI and I live in Charlotte, NC. I love NC so, so much however, it hurts my heart that my daughters relationship with her grandma, grandpa and uncles is long distance. I'm considering selling my home and relocating back to MI.

I have six years of experience in the ED of busy trauma center. All ED certification requirements are current and I can function in any role in the ED from Staff to Charge. Are there positions available and what is the estimated pay-rate? I've looked on some hospitals websites however, I know the real truth is here!

Any insight is appreciated!

Specializes in Med/Surg, Tele, Dialysis, Hospice.

SE Michigan covers a large area, but if you are anywhere near Monroe, Mercy Memorial Hospital has at least three ER RN jobs (12 hr. shifts, 3 days a week) posted right now. It may not seem like it would be since Monroe is a smaller town, but this ER is B-U-S-Y pretty much all the time. Trust me, I work on one of the inpatient units in this hospital, and we are almost constantly full, often times with people waiting in ER for a bed. I have friends who work in our ER and they seem to love it. Mercy Memorial was recently named by someone, I think it was the Detroit News, as one of the top 100 companies to work for in the Greater Detroit/SE Michigan area, and I am very happy there. It's big enough to be busy but small enough to be personal, and you don't feel like just another employee number like I did when I worked in a large, teaching hospital.

There are always ER/ED jobs available when I look for open positions, at several hospitals. The pay range is probably $25-30 an hr.

Specializes in Tele, Stepdown, Recovery.

Providence hospital in Southfield just expanded their ER, they have 6 new positions (night shift I think) from what I'm told. Not sure about the pay or anything else...

Specializes in Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care Nursing.
