B in A&P at MCC

U.S.A. Michigan

Ok- I didn't mean for the title to sound like something out of Dr. Seuss. I'm freaking out-taking a 6 week A&P course at Macomb and my grade has now dropped to a solid B. I'm upset, but I'm still pushing forward in the class. The things that's freaking me out is...should I retake it in the Fall with three other classes or should I just apply with a B and cross my fingers.

I have an A in English and have to take two more prerequisites before the Feb application deadline. I am scheduled to take the Hesi in December. Help a lady out!

Maybe I'm freaking out for no reason? I have just worked so hard in this crazy short summer class and now I'm worried it won't be good enough.

Good day, GiveMeTheCoffee:

For prerequisite classes, I recommend Pre-Nursing Student for questions in so far as they are not school specific (otherwise, do as your doing in the state/school area). I recommend checking with your program advisor for your question. For some schools a B is still good. On a related, but separate note, I avoided any six week science class because there's too much to memorize/learn and then you still need to know it relatively well once you get into nursing.

Thank you.

Yes, the accelerated science classes are for...IDK who the heck they are for. LOL! But seriously, I've tried CHEM 131 at HFCC (now HFC) and had to drop it. I wouldn't worry about it if you have a B in that class and A's in the other pre-reqs.

The same thing happened to me. I took A & P in the summer and received a C+. I also took English that semester and got an A. So the following fall I took micro, intro to nursing & retook A&P. I got an A in intro and a B+ in micro & A&P. I'm starting the program in March of this year!

Oh wow, that's really encouraging actually! What did you get on your Hesi if you don't mind me asking? I'm starting to think I should keep my B in A&P and just take another English so that I can apply to both Macomb and Oakland. Maybe that will better my chances.
