I have some questions about applying to nursing programs at other schools that I hope some of you can answer. I am currently trying to get in at HFCC but I would like to apply at some others. I have thought about MCC, WCCC and St. Clair. I have looked at their websites regarding requirements and I notice that almost all of them have different pre-reqs. How is everyone meeting the requirements to apply to multiple schools? It seems impossible to meet the requirements to apply everywhere without having to take more pre-reqs. Even then, it seems like there is no guarantee. If anyone who is doing this can help I would love to know how to go about it. Thanks!

There isn't really a way around it. You need to take all of the classes each school requires. If you can't do all of them, pick one or two school and just go with those.

Most schools have requirements before you can get on the wait list, then you can work on the rest of the pre-reqs as you are waiting on the list. Pick a few schools, see what is required to apply and work on those first - most of them have the same basic stuff they require (like basic biology, anatomy, etc). I think most of the schools you listed have wait lists, so by the time you are ready to get on their list, you should have a better idea how long each would take. Good luck~

Thanks for replying. I was wondering if it was worth the extra time and money to take some of the classes that the other schools require to apply. I have everything except the net for HFCC but I would like to have some other options. Also, HFCC is telling me all of the math that I had at Baker doesn't transfer. MCC requires micro and I don't have that since HFCC doesn't require it. WCCC and SC4 have a different list. It's crazy, I guess I find it all a little overwhelming and I really don't want to wait around for one school. It seems like I have been doing this forever and I'm still nowhere. I know others are in the same boat as me but just would like to know what route others are taking to get things moving.

I don't have any answers but just wanted to let you know I totally feel your pain! All the programs I am applying to have pretty different pre-reqs, it is frustrating to say the least!
