Miami Dade College Spring 2016 nursing program admission

Updated:   Published

Good morning/night to all who are reading this,

I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).

Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

Honestly I think they go by who applied first not by gpa. Cause I had a 3.74 gpa and applied in January and my friend with 3.5 who also applied in January got in. But my other friend had a 3.85 but she applied in March so she received the second batch.

I applied August 6

I applied August 14... I don't think it was fair though for ppl who applied after the extended deadline simply cause we had our stuff together way before the original deadline

Your GPA is a small part of it really. The main thing is the HESI score which is 60% of your total score. The difference between your GPA and your friends was just 2 points on the total score really.

But they didn't have to take the then it was all about gpa

Ahh yes they went through a rough period for a while there. My cohort was the last one to take the TEAS test for admission, then they switched it to some test called NLN or something for the next semester and basically everyone did horrible on it so they removed that one and made it all about GPA until they could figure out what to do and they decided on HESI.

I thought I remember it being 60% of your cumulative gpa added with 40% of your sciences gpa to get your total for that semester, maybe that has something to do with it?

Now it's 60% hesi 40% science gpa

Ugh i was really hoping by a miracle that today they would send out the e-mails.

I cant take any more waiting!

i just want to know yes or no already! (Preferably yes) lol

OMG!!! I GOT ACCEPTED

Guys they are sending email!! i got in for full time

Congrats! I didn't get anything

Keep checking! Good luck to all of you
