Miami Dade College Spring 2016 nursing program admission

Updated:   Published

Good morning/night to all who are reading this,

I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).

Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

You apply financial aid once a school year.. I want to work at least 2 days a week

Do you think it's doable? Also are you saying it isn't too late for me to apply?

Maybe it is depends on your but it is to late for financial aid to pay for classes in the spring since you didn't do financial aid for that school year

How if it's still 2015? makes no sense

You apply for financial aid every January that is good for fall Spring Summer and then after that you apply again.. If you didn't apply in January for financial aid before the deadline which I think was June they will not pay for your classes those whole 3 semesters... Which is why I told you they won't pay for January or the summer cause you didn't apply for financial aid cause that financial aid is for year fall 2015- Summer 2016

I see, but this is the 2015-2016 school year is it not? The deadline says till june 2016. Idk, either way I have money saved up.

No the deadline was June 2015 that would have cover 2015- 2016 school year. Hopefully you have a lot saved up cause these books are supper expensive

U sure know how to cheer people up bebebs

:(

Am sorry but it's better to hear it from me and be prepared then hear it last minute when you get in the program and you have no clue of what to do

You can applied for financial aid any time the only problem is you have to wait 4 to 6 weeks to recieved it do it as soon as possible just go to financial aid office and speak with an adviser you have time do not worry

Thanks Hope5, hope to see you guys soon ?

Hi everyone! I've been following this thread for a while but finally made an account! Haha!

Anyway, fill out the FAFSA for this year 1) because you need to 2) makes it easier to have most of your info ready for January 1 for the next FAFSA of 2016-2017. I already graduated with a Bachelor's and Financial Aid won't cover me anymore except for loans because of that degree.

You should still see an advisor! My advisor at the Medical Campus is super sweet and helpful and has seen me through my pre-requisite classes to my application process and answers my questions promptly--The BEST advisor I've had in my college career by far! Her last name is Quintana :)
