Miami Dade College (MDC) Fall 2012 Full-time/Part-time Nursing program

Published

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.

I will start:

I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)

Yes, I noticed that. I think it's because we don't have many sections, as the med campus does. In fact, there's only one option for fundamentals, and one other one if I remember right. Main thing we have much choice on is clinicals and one of the classes. Suits me fine that way lol

Just giving y'all a heads up. I just logged into the MDC system, and my status has changed from pre-select to RN, which allowed me to register for classes :). I went ahead and selected my classes at Homestead, based on the classes listed on the nursing dept website for first semester. I haven't paid the fees yet, and wont' until after orientation Friday, but figured some of you might want to check and see if you can register as well. How exciting!

i registered also but i cant find NUR1025L under homestead campus ???? any luck

Hey Cane... Where do I check for that change from Pre-select to RN?

When you're logged in to the MDC site, on the left you'll see "my degree audit". Use selected program, log in, and at the top it should say RN, not preselect anymore.

All the first sem classes are there for Homestead.

Specializes in Med Surge.

Hi there Cane and all,

studybudy12, you can't change anything in your degree audit. You can only see what is on the system. If it says that you are preselect, then you will be preselect until orientation (or just before), when the administrative folks in the nursing department change it.

See you Friday!!

NUR1025L is under homestead outreach or you can do a search with "any campus" and all of them will come out. Hope this helps. See you Friday!

1st can you do the clinical anywhere or does it have to be from the homestead outreach list?

2nd - who else is having panic attack over the current job market for new ADN nurses with 0 experience, ive been looking around testing the waters so to speak and it is not pretty...especially with baptist no longer taking mdc students what other residency programs or externship programs are out there for ADN they all want BSN?????

this is deeply concerning me ........

There are many job openings for new AS degree's. Go to career builder.com and press registered nurse in search box...Tons of jobs for both Bachelors and Associate degree's.. And that's just careerbulider..lol..Don't worry.
