Hey everyone,
I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.
I will start:
I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)
Just giving y'all a heads up. I just logged into the MDC system, and my status has changed from pre-select to RN, which allowed me to register for classes :). I went ahead and selected my classes at Homestead, based on the classes listed on the nursing dept website for first semester. I haven't paid the fees yet, and wont' until after orientation Friday, but figured some of you might want to check and see if you can register as well. How exciting!

1st can you do the clinical anywhere or does it have to be from the homestead outreach list?
2nd - who else is having panic attack over the current job market for new ADN nurses with 0 experience, ive been looking around testing the waters so to speak and it is not pretty...especially with baptist no longer taking mdc students what other residency programs or externship programs are out there for ADN they all want BSN?????
this is deeply concerning me ........

There are many job openings for new AS degree's. Go to career builder.com and press registered nurse in search box...Tons of jobs for both Bachelors and Associate degree's.. And that's just careerbulider..lol..Don't worry.

Yes, I noticed that. I think it's because we don't have many sections, as the med campus does. In fact, there's only one option for fundamentals, and one other one if I remember right. Main thing we have much choice on is clinicals and one of the classes. Suits me fine that way lol
