Miami Dade College (MDC) Fall 2012 Full-time/Part-time Nursing program

Published

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.

I will start:

I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)

Thanks! That makes life much simpler :)

Hi everybody my name is Jessica and i'm new in this blog. I've doing some research about the Nursing Program at MDC Medical Campus because i'm almost done with my requirements. Does anybody know, how long is the waiting list to get in. Have anybody take the TEAS Test, how difficult is it? Any tips? Any advice? Thanks!!!

Congrats studybudy12~~we both got in!!! :yeah: thank you God!!!...out of the three options I got into the accelerated...I am so ready for the challenge, I am aware is not going to be easy whatsoever...I will be quiting my job right before school starts...does anyone know how much is the program (tuition plus books/uniforms)????...I contacted MDC and Mia Rescue Mission Clinic regarding on the health records---they (MRMC) say that as long as you have a receipt that you have paid for your med stuff it will be enough to show that tomorrow...MDC says that it will be ok to turn everything in at orientation and even extra couple of days (MDC is aware that this a long process)...I got the acceptance email on the 3rd, but I'm glad I didn't waste anytime...I got everything done except med portion (is in process) and CPR card (mine expires Oct.2012)...I hope they take a copy of my CPR card for now...Good luck everyone!!!!........:w00t:

You should be fine just go and come with any documentation you know they may need.

eracne2012,

I just checked mine....mine says MDC Background Check Confirmation: you have successfully completed your background check....If I were you contact whoever you need to talk to asap so you can get this out of the way...everything will be ok...

I just started a thread for our group (Accelerated)...check it out...Good luck!!...

Eracne,

That message goes out when there is something that comes up on the background check that needs further clarification; don't worry about it too much, if you know that you don't have anything to hide, everything will come out in the wash and you'll be fine. The same thing happened to me because there's a guy with my same name and birthdate that got arrested a bunch of times, so of course it always comes up on any background check I do lol. Just jump on it quick, the sooner the better!

JessicaGZ,

Congrats on being close to applying. There has always been a nasty rumor going around about this, something which I worried about myself for awhile. However, I ASSURE you: There is NO waiting list for MDC!! All applications are on a semester-by-semester basis.

I posted this in the accelerated thread...just a heads up on the CPR class:

I have an AED/CPR/lifesaving card for first responders (good for another 20 months) from the Red Cross, and the person at the third floor window looked at the photocopy of it as if I brought it from another planet. According to what the school wants, it has to be AHA-approved. Since when does ARC need the AHA's approval? As far as I know, everyone considers them to be completely equivalent.

Just a heads up for those who still have to take CPR -- take an American Heart Association course for minimal hassle. Their Miami office is not far from downtown. Or take the one MDC offers.

Just came from MDC Medical Campus, you will be granted an extension until orientation for the health screening stuff as long as you show proof that you paid for the package (I showed the receipt). Turned everything else in so now just to wait for July 19 orientation (part time generic)!! :0)

Yeah I had the same issue with the background check due to an arrest I had for traffic tickets. Just go to your appointment with your paperwork, and you'll be fine.

Marcnmiami is it ok to pm you?
