MGH Critical Care New Grad Program
I've read over the information on their website, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience applying to / going through this program or any new grad program at MGH?
I also wanted to see if anyone had any contact information for the person(s) overseeing the program to ask some questions and get more information. The program seems like an amazing opportunity to get into a great hospital.
Thanks, and I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hey!! So I have been a new grad since May of 2009 (no job yet...) and I have been looking everyywherreee. I have even applied to a new grad program in providence. I really really want to get accepted to a "new grad program" and not start off in a LTC or nursing home. I know LTC places wont give me a "new grad" training/orientation obviously, and I really want to work only in a hospital so I have been holding out for a new grad program! I saw that posting for the critical care new grad program for last year, around the summer time, but I have no idea how to even apply for the new grad critical care program...I went to the job postings page and when I saw a posting for "New Grad 2010", turns out this is what it says....
Other Information
2010 New Graduates
Thank you for your interest in New Graduate Nursing Opportunities at MGH.
Currently we do not have any positions available for new graduate RN candidates.
At present we have a pool of qualified candidates comprised of internal employee applicants and students who have completed clinical rotations at MGH. We also have numerous applicants from programs that are part of MGH collaborations with local colleges and universities; these collaborative programs are designed with career placement in mind. It is our priority to consider candidates from the above-named sources. We believe it is important to make you aware of this so that you can make informed decisions and apply to as many healthcare facilities as possible.
If you are graduating in 2010 we welcome you to submit your resume for future consideration should new openings become available. Although each applicant receives electronic confirmation of their application, due to the volume we are receiving we cannot contact each applicant. If we are not able to consider you this year, we very much hope to in the future.
Best wishes with your career search.
I Dont understand how they have a "new grad critical care program" posted on their website, yet when I try to apply for it, it says that they arn't taking any applicants. I am so confused! Let me know if you happen to find any information on this, because I sure as heck have no clue!

MGH's new grad program is one of the most competitive around. They haven't had any external openings in almost two years. They posted that so people stop looking for the new grad program since it usually runs twice a year. They have job placement assistance for a couple of different colleges, including Northeastern co-ops, so they almost always fill the few new grad slots internally now with the job market being so poor in this area.
I called the RN recruiter today at MGH and she said that there is no job availability which is why that thing has been posted....
*sigh*:angthts:
I am really started to get frustrated and I have been applying to NH and RI now...
Good luck to you.
Thanks so much for all of your info!
I'll be sure to try and contact a recruiter when I get closer to that date. If I get anymore info, I'll try to post.
