Well I am not a nurse YET, but I lived in Sacramento for 8 yrs. and heard from many many people that they are always overwhelmed. Very busy, ratios are bad. Let me just say that a friend of mine was in labor and they had no beds so they told her to walk till they had a bed available, then when she felt herself, she felt that babies head and yelled for a nurse, the nurse put her on a bed in a broom closet and the baby was born about 10 minutes later. And yes she still got the bill for everything even though she delivered in a broom closet. I don't know how it is now, I'm sure it isn't like that always, but hey when its busy it makes time go by faster. LOL :chuckle

Hope this helps.

Don't know about the ER there, but that's where I was born 18 years ago :)

It gets VERY hot there, not quite as hot as Red Bluff but pretty close.

Ive spent many of days at Mercy San Juan. They just went through a big Er remodel a couple of years ago. It's pretty busy. You don't get the "interesting" people that you would get at UC Davis.

My father was a patient there many times. Staffing was worse than where I work, but now there are ratios. The area is growing rapidly espec North and east of there, and I think there aren't enough ER beds for the growth. They also have become a trauma hospital in last 5 years or so.
