Anyone been through the fellowship program at Mercy? I'm a new grad nurse starting the fellowship program in October and just looking for any helpful bits of advice or suggestions! Or how you liked it!

Hey RNewbie0203! I was wondering how you ended up liking Mercy's Fellowship Program and if you would recommend it for new grads? Feel free to private message me if you want! Thanks, your input would really help!

I was in the first mercy fellowship in Springfield, I am sure it has changed some but I enjoyed it for the most part!

Hi camwill, I noticed on some other mo forums that you were stationed at fort leonardwood, did you commute to Springfield? for school/work? Am a new Rn grad, been an LPN for 2 yrs, but I would like to get a grad extern job at cox, is it crazy to commute from the base area to cox in Springfield? Especially if it snows?
Thanks in advance
I would like to say it did not bother me...I did my classes all at Cox and then worked in Springfield. I am not going to lie there were a couple of days I wish school and work were closer but I would still do it again. The hospital and school always seemed to be on clear roads...I don't think I was ever late! The snow can be bad but leave early on those days and you will be fine! Feel free to ask any other questions.
Thanks for replying, I think I will go ahead and try do that, because I really liked that cox hospital has ICU positions for new grads, which is what I really want. The next option will be mercy hospital in Lebanon. The one hospital in rolla did not look very promising job wise, but we'll see..hoping for the best. Any input on mercy hospital in Lebanon?
Where did you graduate? Cox had us interview at the beginning of Jan/February for the new grad positions...mercy asked us to come for interview right before cox...most of the ICU positions went to cox new grads...not saying you won't get it but they picked students that they liked from clinical...do you have some ICU experience? Crossing my fingers for you! It is a great program and everyone loved it!
Mercy Lebanon is a great place to work, I actually loved any mercy or cox hospital!
I live in Seattle, Washington, relocating to Waynesville area in July. I wanted to apply for the January residency at cox. I am currently doing my preceptorship in an ICU here in Seattle and wouldn't have had a problem getting a position around here. I only have med-surg Lpn experience, hopefully that helps me a little. Good to know about mercy in Lebanon, I will apply there too!, am only relying on online information, so I really appreciate your feedback
