Memorial Care New Grad October 2022

Published

Hello! I just wanted to make this forum to see if any has heard back from any of the new grad openings from memorial care for this October yet? I got invited to an interview for Long Beach Memorial float pool but that's about it so far. A little worried because October's just around the corner and I haven't seen many updates with my application. Would greatly appreciate any insight on the interview/types of questions for LBM float pool because it sounds really intimidating based on previous posts! ? thank you and good luck everyone!

Hi there,

First of all, thank you for staring this thread! ? I was wondering if anyone else has applied for LBM. I applied for PCU nights. My application status hasn’t changed and I’m eager to hear back from them.  According to the website, the new grad program is 1 year long. My educational guess would be that we may receive updates sometime before Halloween. Anyone else applied for the PCU? ?

I also applied to LBM for the float unit as well as L&D. My application status recently changed to ‘Under Consideration’  for both but have not heard back for an interview. Hoping they will update us soon!

I'm sensing this is going to be a small new grad cohort. What are your thoughts?

hi hi! I only applied to observation care and float pool at lbm.. I already had my interview for float pool but I haven't heard back and it's been over a week so I'm assuming that I didn't get the job? I'm not super sure! they told me that technically it's considered a 1 year program because we have quarterly training but the preceptor portion is actually shorter. I also applied for saddleback memorial's program (neurosciences/general new grad/acute medical unit) but I haven't heard back from that either! I'll update if I do hear back though ?

Hi Mango,

I appreciate you for keeping us in the loop! Congrats on the interview for the float pool! I think things can only move so fast for their HR office, screening and preparing for the October cohort.

The application for the step-down has been posted 9/6/22, and my job status hasn't been updated from "Under consideration." One thing I did notice in the job description says -

"Once the position is closed, we will review your application and the manager will contact you if they wish to proceed with an interview."

So by the looks of it, we have to wait until the job posting closes, and that's when they will contact us, applicants. In the meantime, I am taking it easy and planning to do some traveling and self-care.

As for the length of the program, I am in the hope the preceptorship program would be at least 6 months, with 6 months worth of classes. I've noticed other new grad positions opened up for new grads; I hope they aren't struggling to try to fill in the spaces.

considering that they’re magnet I feel like it shouldn't be super hard to fill in the spaces unless their pay is low! Im not sure what the starting rate is for new grads! we have been having a nurse shortage everywhere so I’m sure they need more though ?

I love that you’re taking care of yourself! Enjoy ?

I hope you also hear back soon! from the other reddit threads it sounds like they can be a little laggy ? I actually applied for their past cohort applications and I never heard back at all but it might have been because I applied late?

Hmm,

I am unsure if you applied late, I think you should be fine application-wise. From my understanding, providence's new grad program only allowed applicants to apply to one location and one unit to prevent a backlog of people to sort out. I still consider you lucky for interviewing for the float pool. I think it's a matter of time. Providence took about 3.5 months when they interviewed people this past May to get them started for September 2022. I am thinking this will be for January 2023 here.

Has anybody got an update on their submission status? Mine updated as "complete"

Hi! Has anyone heard from NICU yet for interviews?

Hi everyone! My status also updated to complete as of 10/3. This is the same day that I had a zoom meeting with the nicu. They mentioned my next steps would be hearing from HR by today which I have not heard anything from them. I reached back out to the person I zoomed with as well and no reply from her either
