St. Paul's School of Nursing - Fall 2010 Acceptance
the books they will let you know during orientation.. and the they should be mailing you information about where to buy the uniform, that should be bought b4 the semester begins...the store is antoinettes..they'll send u all the info about that. Med supplies- the only things we needed for the 1st sem was a stethescope & a blood pressure cuff.. and the bp cuff isn't mandatory, it's just something if you wanted to get on your own if u wanted to. didn't know you were in the evening program, it's much different from the day program..and ur clinical site is going to be at rumc. also, i hear the evening program professors are great! so thats good :) only thing is classes are til late (4-11pm) i wish you the very best of luck!! anything else let me know :)

St. Paul's School of Nursing - Fall 2010 Acceptance
Hii MelisSI!! i'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have :) are you applying to the s.i. location & did u get in already? ok so depending on if you chose the evening program or day program.. i was in the day program and classes run monday through friday.. i didn't have a&p because i already took it before i came to st.pauls.. so i had wednesdays off. The first half of the semester, on either monday or tuesday u will have lab after that class. also classes on thurs & friday. The first semester isn't really medsurg, it's fundamentals and you will also have 3 other classes with it. In my opinion, fundamentals was def the most challenging but it's def doable, u just gotta study hard and practice questions and ask as many questions as you can! the teachers you will have are really good.. and of course everyone has their own opinions but it's really what you make of it.. overall they are good. The 2nd half of the semester you will have clinical monday & tuesdays at clove lakes nursing home and classes after clincal and thurs & friday. It gets really tiring but it goes by quick..finals time is the craziest.. but you could def do it! stay on top of things and you will be fine :) anything else please feel free to ask :)

Getting into a nursing program! need help :(
thank you so much for the reply! Do you really think if i bump my overall GPA and sciences GPa to a 2.75 I can get in? Is it more competitive to get in now than before? Also, what are the science pre-reqs? I looked at their website but I'm not sure if I have all of it. So far I have completed, A&P I &II, Micro, Statistics, Psych, I took a chem course that was 4 credits but i'm not sure if it's ok for the program. What kinds of chem do they want? I took a bio class my first year as an undergrad too. Do you think I need anything else? thank you again so much!! =)

Getting into a nursing program! need help :(
hello everyone, I'm very stressed out and needed some help. I have a bachelors degree with a GPA of 2.6. I know this GPA is not strong, but does anyone know what schools I have a chance with in New york, New Jersey and even Philadelphia? I'm thinking to take some classes this spring semester to bring my GPA up. Does anyone know of schools that are not so competitive to get into in these areas?
-
Low GPA?
wow i would have definitely applied to Oklahoma city university, but it's way too far for me. does anyone know any other programs out there like that that are less competitive to get into? preferably near new york?
