  1. Novant differential pay

I have worked for Novant and CMC. Both are dollar amounts. I believe it was $4 nights (all time from 15:00-07:00 as long as you have at least 4 hours straight clocked in - so say you work days and clock out for lunch at 14:35 and clock back in at 15:...
  2. Days vs Graves

I think new grads need to be on nights. 1. It's easier to find your "flow" that way. 2. Less patients and family around so you can really focus on time management and how to be a good critical thinking nurse. 3. More money. Also, know that new gradua...
  3. Ochsner Medical Center

RUN. Ochsner claims they want "all their nurses to grow and become leaders" but will throw you under the bus ina heartbeat. I've seen SEVERAL people lose their jobs in different areas because of this. It's like if your manager is in a bad mood that d...
  4. Moving to New Orleans Questions

Hey everyone - So I am up in the air on moving to New Orleans to work for Ochsner from North Carolina. I have several options/departments, both permanent and travel nursing. But, I want to know from people who live there and work there, what are some...
  5. International Travel

Hi everyone, I'm HIGHLY interested in international travel nursing - specifically the UK and Australia. Does anyone have experience being a US trained RN working in another country? Is there specific travel companies you would recommend to place you ...

  7. After talking with some nursing friends, our numbers have all varied dramatically. Please tell me: 1. How long have you been a nurse? 2. How many different UNITS have you worked for? (even if one is ortho and your next one was a ortho trauma - same k...
  8. Where have you applied? Gotten your acceptance/rejection letter yet?

UNCNP - dual as in it's a FNP and PMHNP dual program, which would be perfect for me because I have experience in both psych and medical nursing and I have interests in both areas, it would allow me to practice as either NP. Pretty cool.
  9. Where have you applied? Gotten your acceptance/rejection letter yet?

UNCNP - it's a dual program for FNP and PMHNP :)
  10. Where have you applied? Gotten your acceptance/rejection letter yet?

Thank you UNCNP :) I'm very excited, still awaiting Alabama's decision which is 1st choice (online - dual program). Congratulations to everyone else who got in!and even if you didn't - your story isn't over. Don't give up! Twinmommy, I have a coworke...
  11. Really dissapointed in myself

C's get degrees girl. One assessment class for a skill you probably won't even be using at a PMHNP is not relevant in the long run. Worry more about pharm and classes directly related to your field.
  12. I'm trying to make my final decision on where I am going to attend school this fall. With UNC - my program is an on-campus FNP. With Bama - it's an online dual program for FNP/PMHNP (which is very tempting and will allow me to practice in either are...

  14. Where have you applied? Gotten your acceptance/rejection letter yet?

Thank you MICU! I don't understand how I got into Chapel Hill but not UNCC or UNCW. I get into the #4 Nursing Program in the nation but not my little school down the road that I graduated from, just kinda funny. Now waiting for Alabama!

Just got my acceptance to UNC!
