  1. Monster of Pre-Requisites

It took me 4 years just to get into prerequisite classes at my school due to how impacted it is. Graduating with my bachelors degree soon and then applying to ASBSN programs!
  2. CNA and CPR

Thanks for input, I'm going to sign up for a BLS class. I just thought it was odd that the program doesn't advise their students take a CPR class/ make it part of their curriculum when it's a requirement for all the other schools.
  3. CNA and CPR

Hey everyone! Today I signed up for a CNA class and found out that CPR is not part of their program. All the other programs I looked into required CPR. Is this normal? Should I do a CPR class to be on the safe side? Any thoughts?
  4. LPN OR BSN

I'm at Sacramento State. I don't know about other states, but in California you can enroll in an ADN with a Bachelors Degree. In fact, most ADN programs give extra points for having a Bachelors Degree.
  5. LPN OR BSN

Wow, I've been thinking for a while about posting the same topic. I've been facing the same dilemma, except I graduate next Fall with my bachelor's degree. I didn't do too hot in Microbiology, so I was considering doing an LVN program after I graduat...

  7. Older CSU Student 'fitting in' on campus

Don't let it get to you! I'm in my early twenties and have had classes in the nursing building and I get treated the same way when I'm there. Hate to say it, but it's just their personalities.
  8. A&p 1 study tips

For my A&P I class, I studied all the images in my textbook and all of us students were encouraged to take pictures with our phones of the models we went over in lab. Also, there was a professor that had an open lab at the end of the week, which ...

  10. What are some easier nursing programs to get into?

All the CSU nursing programs are super hard to get into. Apply to as many as you can to increase your chances. If you don't get in, apply to CC's and then bridge to BSN :)
  11. Would I be overwhelmed taking these classes?

I'm at CSUS and I think your gpa is competitive enough, it just depends on your TEAS score and how well you do in micro and physio. That said, I would drop the history class. History is very information-dense and would be a hassle to take with those ...
  12. Xavier College vs Healthcare College in Stockton Ca?

I know a few nurses who went to Xavier and ended up doing their LVN to RN at Carrington. If you have a BS, did you consider doing an ABSN? If you go through a state school, it may be cheaper than LVN school and then bridging to RN. From my understand...
  13. Has Anyone Taken Statistics

I took statistics as a five-week summer course, and I worked about 25-30 hours a week. Honestly, I think it just depends on how strong you are in math and who your professor is. Just allot yourself plenty of time to study (especially if you have to e...
  14. How many classes are you taking this Spring?

I'm taking A&P II w/lab, ASL II, and 3 rec therapy classes for a total of 14 units. My longest days will be 7:30 am-7:15 pm (yikes!) But the best advice I can give is to go through each class syllabus and write down important dates in a planner. ...
  15. Transferring from community college to CSU--please help!

I attend a CSU in Nor Cal. I've had friends who have transferred from CCs only to find out some of their classes weren't equivalent to the universities requirements. Also, look each CSU's graduation requirement. At my school, we have to take 3 writin...
