Nevermind I should've read the sticky before posting..lol
I had posted this somewhere else and haven't gotten a response so thought i'd post here as well.
I have my first rotation in the l&d department next week and am wanting to be as prepared as possible. Does anyone know what the nurses role in that department is? I'll be following an RN.
I have my first clinical rotation in the L&D department next week and would like to be prepared. I was just curious as to what exactly the L&D nurses do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! I was basically needing help understanding what a prognosis is...I finally ended up calling the teacher and she explained it to me. Again, thanks for helping!
I'm doing my first pathophysiology and am having a difficult time. Mine is over constipation and i'm not exactly sure what i'm supposed to put under prognosis? I had bought a patho book at the beginning of the semester, but when i opened it up it wasn't the book, but the study guide Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The first thing the instructors told us during orientation last december was to buy comfy uniform bottoms cause we will gain at least 15 lbs! I refuse to gain 15 lbs so have been alot more aware of what goes in my mouth. We're about a month into the program and so far i've been doing good. Even lost some. I dont work out as i have 3 children 4 and under at home on top of my studies, but really wish i had the time too. On the other hand, there have been several girls in the class that have already gained weight, but the whole time we're in class they're eating from the vending machine and drinking sodas...then go out to fast food for lunch. Anyhow, not everyone has to gain weight. pack your lunch and take healthy snacks and drink drink drink that water!!!
I start on the 16th as well...can't wait!!!!
I'm in Texas and i know my sister in laws sister in law got a job at a nursing home starting at $18 right out of school. I'm hoping it's as easy for me once i finish school.
I just got accepted into the lvn program. It starts in jan. and runs to december. They gave us an estimated cost of about $6500. In order to get into the program, you have to take psychology & A&P 1 and II. You also have the option of getting medical terminology, nutrition, and pharmacology out of the way before starting the program which i did so it'll be a little easier. Good luck in whatever you choose to do!
we weren't allowed to use them either...i was so worried, but did very well!
I had my first A&P II class today and i'm not digging it! Our teacher is teaching at another school and we have to watch her on tv...the whole time she's cutting out and the screen isn't always clear...plus because she's not actually in the class everyone else thinks they can talk which distracts me even more . On a good note though we're having an open lab so that should be fun. I'm so looking foward to getting this last pre-req out of the way!!
I'm currently taking nutrition online along w/A&P 1 lec & lab, pharmacology, & medical terminology. I find that taking nutrition along w/A&P is helping me out since some of the stuff we're learning in both classes at the same time. It does help that my nutrition instructor puts notes & pictures as well as a study guides up for each chapter and we're able to email him whenever if we're not understanding something and he's real quick to respond back. So far i seem to be doing well...Between all my classes i have at least 1 test a day..sometimes more and i have a 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old..lol It might be hard but as long as you study you can do it!!!!
teas is easy. basic information. i didn't study a lick and got the 97th percentile. you should be able to do it through the school you are applying for or they can tell you where to take it.
Did we help or confuse further? :chuckle
Well, I didn't read the whole problem....my answer would have been counted *wrong* on a drug calc test :uhoh21:
