  1. Relocating to Seattle Area in Early 2015

As far as living, I live in Lynnwood and commute downtown. The north side is gorgeous and if you don't like driving you can always find a vanpool wherever you work. Essentially, the community transit systems loan a van to a group of people who have t...
  2. Swedish Residency Jan 2014

You could apply to the may or September cohort. But for may, you would need to take and pass your boards ASAP after graduation. Keep in mind it starts the first half of the month, so if you graduate at the end of may, then the may cohort wouldn't be ...
  3. Swedish Residency Jan 2014

At the end of the residency, if there isn't a job opening in some capacity on your unit (which there usually is) then you will have a pt or ft job somewhere in the Swedish system. During the residency you work 36-40 hours a week whether that is on th...

I actually got accepted into the new grad residency at Swedish on nephrology :) Although I am very excited, I would've liked to interview at PRMC also had they been able to get back to me sooner. I also did apply to PSKC. They have continuing g recru...
  11. Washington State RN Temporary Practice Permit

Also, I don't know what the situation for new grads is in Texas, but it is EXTREMELY Competitive in Seattle. A residency may receive well over 1,000 applications and only hire 40-60 people. If there are decent hospital jobs to be had in Texas, stick ...
  12. Washington State RN Temporary Practice Permit

I was in the same boat. Moved to WA from a compact state (SD) and actually found that my compact license was not affected. I have a full wa rn license now. I notified my state board that I moved out of state but the license is actually still intact u...
  13. Swedish Residency Jan 2014

As far as scrubs, on the Nephrology unit, any color scrubs are acceptable. Shoes must be closed toe. Anyone know if Swedish security will walk people out to the buses. I will be taking the metro and commuter buses.
