   If you have the time, why not? Nurses are not meant to just care for the physical/medical well-being, but the emotional and spiritual well-being as well.

   I think doctors tend to view nurses as "friends/colleagues/whatever" rather than their patients. What he said was unbelievably wrong. He could have phrased it much more professionally.

   My school does a point system to invite you to test for the Kaplan. You're accepted based on your Kaplan score. My GPA was a 3.75 and Kaplan was an 87.

5. Nursing School as an Older Student

   I am almost 30. I have 3 kids and a husband. My son has Asperger's syndrome. I can honestly say that I am crazy busy. But it is manageable if you want it and put your mind to it. It is a lot of studying and hard work. But it is possible. =)

   My personal suggestions are getting comfortable with Maslow's Hierarchy and organizing your life, study area, etc., but also take the time to do things you enjoy! Nursing school can be all consuming.

10. Did you take all pre-reqs before applying?

    My school doesn't require every pre-req to be taken. They do require A&P, Microbio, chemistry, nutrition, psych, and English. I went ahead and took all my pre-reqs so that I wouldn't have to worry about those classes during the program.

    How does the school work? Is it based on GPA or priority points, then an entrance exam? Your GPA is awesome! Until then, retake some classes and reapply, along with applying to other schools.

    Personally, I would stay in. You already paid the money. Learn what you can and if you have to repeat next semester, at least you will know what to expect.
