About RhabdoNurse2b

I have FINALLY graduated from my RN program! Woop!!! I work as a nurse at a nursing home and I'm enjoying it very much! I'm married and have three little girls (11, 8, 6 years) so I'm VERY busy! I already have a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, but due to my lack of clinical experience, I was unable to apply it. Which is why I went into nursing. However, I don't think I'm ready to give up that face to face interaction for pushing a pencil around anytime soon! I LOVE what I'm doing! I learn something new about the human experience every day and I am grateful I chose to be a nurse! My next step will be obtaining certification in wound care. I LOVE it! I love seeing the progress made with good wound care! :) Within 3 years, I will be going back for my BSN.

  1. Sticky situation .. What would you do?

WOW! I thought some of my instructors were pretty harsh! I think this is a COMPLETE abuse of her position. I would be taking this up with the Dean of Nursing if I were you. Some might think that action is too much, but honestly, this is pettiness tha...
  2. How do I handle this? Really long post...

Thank you for the different viewpoint. I tried to keep the issue and blame aimed off her, doing it as much "by the book" as possible, however, the expression greatly flustered me (my bad). I should have clarified that I wasn't self-appointed to appro...
  3. How do I handle this? Really long post...

I'm having a hard time seeing where age comes into play. I'm in my 30's and yes, I've been around similar people, but in the learning environment, serious students don't have the simple options of sharing their feelings (in the context provided above...

I have the same reaction and maybe it's not the best reaction to lose respect because someone throws out their credentials, but it just happens. I feel that if I have to earn your respect, perhaps you should reciprocate, you know? Since making this ...
  5. I am a 1st year 2nd semester nursing student in the RN program. I'd just like to see if there are any pieces of advice for me concerning an instructor. There are many inconsistencies with this instructor and a LOT of unprofessionalism. I approached ...
  6. Need NCLEX HELP!

You have the Saunders book, which is a GREAT start, BUT, if it's the RN version, it is most likely over your head (I'm in my 1st year, 2nd semester and some of it was like reading Chinese). Instead, utilize the CD that hopefully came with it. The NCL...
  7. I need some encouragement........

Strange how I stumbled on this thread. I'm a nontraditional also in my second semester, having applied because my spouse cheated on me. (Small, sad world, huh?) I just wanted to let you know that you should follow your dream of being a nurse! As many...
