I have been looking for this topic on the site but couldn't find it, so I opened up this new topic, hopefully I'm not the only one with this question f I have recently gotten my New Jersey LPN License, and my question is how do I go about getting licensed in NY. If any of you know, I would greatly appreciate your help. I know you're supposed to go to the NY Board of Nursing website , but I can't seem to find the application, the only one I find there is the one for NCLEX testing. If anybody knows and could by any chance be able to give me the exact website or URL I would be very thankfull Thanks!
Hi kmondano , I have a question, you wrote you got a license in NJ and NY, I just recently passed my NCLEX PN and got my NJ License, and I really want to obtain the NY LPn License also to have more opportunities, and wanted to ask you how do you go about that? What is the website where I can apply for the NY License and how much do they charge for it? and do they require their own fingerprinting and background check? How long did the whole process take? I'm sorry for all the questions, I'm just really anxious to find a job and it's really hard here in Jersey. Thanks in advance
Thankss so much! I got my result at 9 15, so you're right, a little more over 48 hours , but what a relief!! I passed, and the pearson vue trick also did work for me
did the Quick Results this morning and I PASSED!! Whoo hoo cant beleive this is all over , what a great feeling Thank u everyont for all your support
I see its been a year since the last comment here, but Im going exactly through the same thing right now. It has been 48 hours after my exam and there is still no Quick Results option ..I'm dying to know!! I took my NCLEX thursday at 8 am and it is now saturday 840am, I have been checking since 8, still nothing..Im getting worried. I got the "good pop up" and I keep getting it til now, but is it really reliable?? This waiting game is killing me
thank youu!! Although Im still not 100% sure if I passed, the only thing im relying on is the PVT for now
Thank youu!!! and very BIGG congrats to you too kkostelnikPN !! Although its still not 100% official for me, still have about 7 hours until I'll be able to check the quick results. Can anyone tell me how do I go about the quick results? Is it supposed to show up on the pearson vue website after I sign in??
And jc1809 the SATAs I had really weren't that bad, the questions were really straight forward, when i think about it I think the nursing school exams were more difficult than the NCLEX. Just remember your ABC's and the hierarchy of needs when prioritizing, never choose an option that has you leaving the patient, dont delay care, also always do an assesment before notifying the charge nurse, remember to nurse the client not the equipment, "immidiate" in a question means patient may die, and never choose NSAIDs on NCLEX. I'm sure you'll do great! Good luck! )
Congrats!!!! You're officially a nurse!! I took my NCLEX PN today too and I did the PVT right after I got out of the buliding and got the good popup, I am so anxious til saturday to pay for those quick results and be certain that the PVT is true! My computer also shut off at 85 questions, it wasnt that bad, not alot of pharm, alot of SATAs , teaching, prioritizaton and some calculatons. I was actually suprised of how broad the exam was. I never did good on ATI, i hated ATI for some reason, i was told in my program to study for NCLEX from ATI and we were giving ati materials for it, I even got a study book from them but I just couldnt study from it, instead II purcahsed EXAM PREP and I gotta say I even got a question on the NCLEX that they had in that book ) I graduated from nursing school May of 2012, bt just took my nclex this january since right after graduation I was getting married in Europe and when I got back I must have waited at least 3 months for the ATT, when I finally got it , I registed for the exam but after the SANDY hurricane we had in Jersey some of the centers flooded and they ended up cancelling my exam until further notice. I took my fist attempt NCLEX exam a little over 7 months after graduation, and Im really hoping the good popup works for me as it does for everyone else )
I'm sure you can do it!!! Don't get discouraged! Remember ABC when prioritizing, also use the hierarchy of needs when prioritizing, never choose an option that has you leaving the patient, don't delay care, also always do an assesment before notifying the charge nurse, nurse the client not the equipment. "IMMIDIATE" in a question means pt may die, don't choose NSAIDs on NCLEX. Stay Positive you can do this!! Don't let the nerves get the best of you.
I took my NCLEX PN today at 8 am, it shut off at 85 questions, I dont know what to think, it could go either way, I could either pass or fail. I did the PVT trick and I ended up getting the good pop-up but I'm so skeptical about it :/ The exam itself didn't seem so hard, it was pretty broad, honestly I did not get a lot of pharmacology questions, a lot of prioritizing, teaching, infections and unfortunately SATAs which I hate. Well all I studied was the EXAM PREP book, I read the whole book, did the questions in the back of the book and the CD questions that came with the book. There was one question I found on the NCLEX that was in my book. Questions were pretty similar. They told us in school to study from ATI, but i hate hate hare ATI , to me its so hard, and the ATI is mostly content knowledge, which is not how the NCLEX tests..I would always get really low scores on the ATI which would just discourage me. NCLEX tests your critical thining, they wanna see if you'll be a safe practicing nurse. I think the EXAM PREP book was a really good investment, it cost me about $50 and barnes and noble, but they sell it cheaper at amazon or ebay. Wel i just hope I passed, gotta wait til saturday for the quick results :/
so i just got home from the testing center, and I have been checking that pearson vue trick ever since and I'm getting the good pop up, Im just still not convinced if it really is true..BUT I REALLY HOPE SOO..My computer shut off after 85 questions, I didn't have a lot of meds which suprised me since I've read others get a lot of pharm questions, which was a reliefff , but a lot of SATA questions, some infection control questions ..but honestly I expenced the exam to be wayy wayy worse, I was preparing myslef for the worst, and I was pleasantly surprised, it was pretty broad..But I dont wanna say anythng until I know for sure I have passed. I really hope and pray that the pearson vue trick works I went into the testing center feeling like I know nothing honestly, I sat down and prayed, and question after question I closed my eyes and prayed for God to guide me to the right answer..So whatever is meant to be will be..AND TO ALL YOU FUTURE NURSES THAT YET HAVE TO TAKE THE NCLEX, IF I PASSED, THEN ANYONE CAN PASS ( but about that i will still have to keep u updated) :P Good luck to all! Ohh and just to let you know, the only thing I reviewed was EXAM PREP PN book very friendly book!
