It is so overwhelming to see the images on the television. Immense suffering. Definitely conserving fuel is a priority for all of us now and will help the overall effort. All of those people left there in the aftermath of the hurricane need to get ...
I agree with the great advice given here so far. Tweety you're so right, you can't put job satisfaction, your own happiness, etc. in anyone else's hands....I also needed to hear that today. I also agree with the posters who suggested critical care ...
Heymickey, hang in there. I too was hired in February, and I'm on a Med/Surg/Tele unit. I've had my highs and lows since I've been hired. I too sometimes wonder if nursing is truly for me. Ultimately, only we can answer that for ourselves. But I ...

I had wanted to try hospital floor nursing to get a good varied experience base. So far, I'm getting lots of different types of patients. I do know they consider what patients get sent to the unit as I'm a new nurse. There was an orientation...tho...
Thanks for both of your advice. Part time/reducing hours just may be the thing I need in my case. And setting boundaries, making the time for lunch, etc. is crucial. Nursing has so many opportunities; I'm sure there's a fit out there for me. Than...
I'm sure this is no new story for you experienced nurses. I'm a new grad, 3 months on the job now. I have a B.S in biology and went back for my ADN. (I'm older, not a youngin'!) And yikes, it all of a sudden hit me and wore me down. This floor nurs...
