Hrtnurse14 has 12 years experience and specializes in ICU.

I am married to a great guy named Ed since 1996. We have 3 children that keep us busy. We enjoy boating, fishing, and traveling. I have worked in a variety of areas in Nursing including IMCU, ER, Nursery and now ICU. Recently I was promoted to Manager of our unit. It's a learning process, but thankfully I love to learn!

I would love to get some feedback regarding roles and responsibilities. Let me preface this by saying I work at a 60 bed hospital. We have an ED, OB, ICU/IMCU, and 2 floors of medical and surgical patients. I work under a director of my unit who a...

Thanks for the info. That is very helpful. Every 3rd weekend sounds nice! Do you like the ED you work in? We were very busy up here but we did have techs and transporters (usually) to help. They drew labs, did EKG's and did post-molds which helpe...

  15. What Is Your Most Gross, Yucky, Disgusting Nursing Horror Story?

I think working in the ED you can get the most disgusting. One of the last ones I dealt with was a lady who was transported in by ambulance from home. Her reason for coming was "sores that don't heal on her legs". She was fairly young, maybe 40's ...
