You cannot use a latex containing Foley kit on a Latex allergy pt!!!! End of story!! Why would you take that chance? If the catheter contains latex, the whole kit is contaminated!

As I take my colonoscopy pts. into PACU, to get them to pass gas I tell them " this will be the only time in your life you will be encouraged to fart/pass gas" (especially men!) so make it a trophy/award winner!!! And to women I tell them, here's you...
Thanks Works2xs for your excellent reply. As OR nurses we need to maintain our pts. dignity & respect for their modesty. As you stated, the Golden Rule applies. I don't think any of us would like to be unecessarily exposed! I always treat my pts....
How about draining butt pus that could peel the paint off the walls (I actually looked to see if this was occurring)from a 500 lb. man, unwashed, with yeast under the fat folds , is given a spinal so have to keep gagging & puking quiet!
